‘Ambient Music’ album completed

I just released ‘(Look for a) Compromise’, the last track for my ‘Ambient Music’ album which is now complete.

‘(Look for a) Compromise’ is build upon a simple riff created during jamming with the free APC Cloudrum virtual instrument. As the (loop-based) intro of this song strongly reminded me of Pink Floyd’s classical ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ I have added some instruments from this song in this composition, please note that I have only used the sound (created with the ‘Floyd Tribute’ presets in Arturia’s Analog Lab V), not the actual notes. The percussion tracks were created mainly with iZotope’s Breaktweaker and the ‘Action Strikes‘ Kontakt instrument, for the melodic percussion tracks I have used ‘Mallet Flux‘. I also used several (sampled) gongs in this track as I’m a big fan of gongs, especially the Javanese ‘Gong Agung‘ with which this song starts.

Before starting with my next ambient music album I am now finishing some tracks for my ‘other music‘ project.

‘The Ulloo Drone’ (new track) released

I just released my new track ‘The Ulloo Drone’. Some background information: Ulloo is Hindi for owl (an owl-like sound is frequently used in this song, alongside several Indian musical instruments), and the song sounds alltogether like a drone to me (drone in the meaning of a deep sustained or monotonous sound). Nice detail: the lyrics are in Sinhala (a language from Sri Lanka).

This song is build around a rather monotonous basstrack (the drone) to which I have added some Indian percussion and string instruments. I have completed it with flutes, owl-like sounds, synth and a vocal track in Sinhala (based on loops from the W.A. Productions Sinhala EDM Vocals library, with a drastic tempo drop).

Finally my own website

Until now I kept my music mostly for myself but I think it’s time for a change so I finally decided to build my own website for my ambient music project ‘Ulloo Drone’. Please note this site is still under heavy development, if you encounter problems you can contact me at ‘info at ulloodronemusic.com’.

Happy relaxing 😉
