Welcome to the homepage for ‘Ulloo Drone’, my ambient music project. I started this project a few years ago, during the first Corona/Covid lockdown. As I had lots of spare time then I decided to blow new life into my (mainly computer based) home studio and work in a different musical style than my usual: my ‘Ulloo Drone’ songs are more or less in the ambient genre and meant for relaxation, therefore many songs are instrumental. My first album, aptly titled ‘Ambient Music‘, is finished as is my second album ‘Chimera‘. July 2023 I started working on a third album in the same genre titled ‘Ulloo Dreams‘ which by now (january 2024) is finished. And of course I’m already working on a fourth album (working title: ‘Magical Ambiences’). My ‘Ulloo Drone’ albums are also available on Soundcloud, Spotify, iTunes and other selected streaming platforms.
The name ‘Ulloo Drone’ is derived from one of my songs, ‘The Ulloo Drone’.
Some background information on this: Ulloo is Hindi for owl (an owl-like sound is frequently used in this song, alongside several Indian musical instruments), and the song sounds alltogether like a drone to me (drone in the meaning of a deep sustained or monotonous sound). Nice detail: the lyrics are in Sinhala (a language from Sri Lanka).
As a side-project I create more conventional, mainly pop/rock songs (but also including some what I call cinematic songs) under the name ‘My Inner Fire’. These songs are available on the ‘A New Case of Music‘ album and my new ‘Stories‘ album. ‘Stories’ and some songs from ‘A New Case of Music’ are available for listening on Spotify, iTunes and other selected streaming platforms.
